About I Bar Fly

ABOUT BAR FLY:

I am not admitting that I am a bar fly- I’m boasting!  When you’re good at something, you have to embrace it.  And I have.  My talents are few.  I cannot carry a tune.  I’m about as coordinated as a newborn giraffe.  And I’ve hardly ever finished anything in my life (except, of course, my drink).  But, in bars I flourish.  Frankly, we all do.

I love the way a bit of alcohol, some dimmed lights, and bar stools bring out the absolute best in so many of us.  The same strangers who dedicate their morning commutes to ignoring each other, embrace each other.  It’s time to drink!  Time to talk!  Time to flirt, God damn it!

MY MISSION:

Bars are my church.  The drink is my sacrament.  But I’m down with all faiths and want to sample the full spectrum of my spirit(ual) choices.  So, with that in mind I set out to meet bar flies like myself throughout the New York bar scene, because who knows bars better than the men and women on the stools?  And I don’t know if you’ve ever heard a drunk talk… but we’ve got plenty to say.
